
Bill Niland, President & CEO
Mr. Niland’s 30-year career has been entirely in the healthcare industry. Most recently he was Founder and Chief Business Officer of Vapotherm, Inc. a non-invasive ventilation company that pioneered a new treatment modality now known as “high flow nasal cannula therapy.” Prior to his position as chief business officer at Vapotherm, Mr. Niland started and successfully managed two other healthcare companies, which were eventually sold to Mediq Mobile X-ray and Vital Signs, respectively. Mr. Niland spent his first ten years in medical sales with Mediq/PRN, Becton-Dickinson where he held various sales and marketing positions. He is also an inventor and holds 10 patents for medical devices. Mr. Niland holds a Bachelors degree in Law/Justice from Rowan University Glassboro, NJ.
Leadership
Harpoon Medical, Inc. Harpoon Medical, Inc. was established to commercialize innovative technology for mitral valve repair developed in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The company’s CEO, Bill Niland, is a serial medical device entrepreneur and he has recruited a talented management team . Harpoon Medical’s cross-functional management team has over a century of experience in medical device companies ranging from small startups to large public companies.



Peter Wilson, VP of R&D
Mr. Wilson is the lead engineer at Harpoon Medical. Mr. Wilson began his career at Boston Scientific where he was involved in manufacturing engineering and R&D. He was an early employee of three start-ups in the San Francisco Bay area where he was a key resource in product development teams for Micrus Endovascular (acquired by J&J), Vivant Medical (acquired by Covidien) and Emphasys Medical (acquired by Pulmonix). For the 10+ years prior to co-founding Harpoon Medical, Mr. Wilson provided design and product development services to a variety of medical device companies through his own development firm. Mr. Wilson has a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and is an inventor on more than 25 patents.
Zita Yurko, RAC, VP of Regulatory and Quality
Ms. Yurko is a Regulatory Affairs Certified professional with a diverse Regulatory and Quality background. She brings with her U.S. and Global RA/QA medical device experience in the areas of strategy, submissions, negotiation and clinical study. Prior to joining Harpoon, Ms. Yurko was a Director of Regulatory Affairs at Respironics, Inc., Ms. Yurko has presided over more than 80 successful 510(k) applications. Ms. Yurko has a Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and received her U.S. Regulatory Affairs Certification in 2005.

Peter Boyd, JD, MBA, VP of Business Development & GC
Mr. Boyd is an attorney with a diverse business background. He was an associate at Latham & Watkins in their Silicon Valley emerging growth companies and corporate department. During his tenure at Latham, Mr. Boyd represented a wide range of early stage companies in the healthcare space in a variety of transactions including venture financings, joint ventures, licensing transactions and M&A deals. Mr. Boyd has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a JD/MBA degree from the University of Virginia.

Mark Collins, CPA, VP of Finance & Operations
Mr. Collins has a broad background in accounting, information systems, human resources, purchasing, and manufacturing and customer service. He has 25 years of experience in the manufacturing environment including medical device, industrial and automotive industries. He spent the last 9+ years at Vapotherm where he built a strong corporate foundation across multiple disciplines to support the company’s rapid growth. Prior to joining Vapotherm, Mr. Collins was a plant controller for a division of Emerson. Mr. Collins has a Bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Tim MacNeil, European Sales Consultant
Mr. MacNeil has over 20-years of medical device sales and marketing experience. Former positions include Director of International Marketing AtriCure where he provided instrumental leadership in significant growth of the international division. Also12 years at Guidant (Boston Scientific) in CRM sales. Mr. MacNeil also led the European start up effort at Correx Medical. He led international surgical teams at CryoCath and ATS Medical for surgical AF, which were subsequently bought by Medtronic. Mr. MacNeil has a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.A. in Marketing and Business Development (online learning) from Cornell University. He is also NASPExAM/AP certified.
